A Reception for Family and Friends

Often times as funeral professionals to best serve our community our primary focus is not on the departed but on the family that is left behind.  The most immediate survivors are quite often left to contend with not just their own feelings and emotions.  We might say that the most important part of what we do within funeral service is offer time for a reception of family and friends.

What do we mean when we talk about a reception of family and friends, well we mean time spent in reverence of the departed.  A visitation in remembrance or celebration of life held is quite possibly the greatest opportunity for healing to take place.  It may be best described as the support of family, friends and community.

When we take a moment of silence, we are reverent.  We quiet our minds, we are still and listen to our hearts.  Time spent within a funeral home is a decision to put our life on hold and pause for a life that has so touched our hearts.

Consider a visitation at a funeral home to not only honor your loved one but to find healing and support.  As a means to reduce anxieties encourage family and friends to come share a memory as a means of comfort.  May these memories help all those who have experienced loss to take a step towards healing.

The darkest path walked might have nearly finished us yet beyond them have helped us to guide others-
